Apple have just announced via their Chinese website that they will invest around $500 Million in China, specifically to help expand R & D operations within the region. Having already announced R & D centers in Beijing and Shenzhen, this investment will help to create two additional R & D centers in Shanghai and Suzhou.
This expansion of operations and engineering teams aims to promote collaboration between local organizations, all to help create an ecosystem to promote technological advancement within the region and around the world.
Through partnering with educational institutions such as Peking University, Apple will provide internships and jobs to achieve their aim of creating a regional supply chain of technical experts within Apple. This is welcome news for jobs within the regions, particularly for graduates and students.
